First Grade Civics SOL 1.10 Instructional Resources

• Good Character Lesson Plans - Discussion Questions, Writing Assignments, and Student Activities for Character Education and Life Skills. 
• Self Control Lesson - Students will learn how to respond to authority by using self-control.
• You Can Count on Me - Lesson on Responsibility  -Students will learn what it means to be responsible. They will also explore practical ways in which they can apply responsibility to their own lives.
• Self Control Starts With You - Students will learn what self-control is and why it is important. They will also learn that controlling their thoughts is an important part of practicing self-control. 
• A game of honesty and lies - Students will identify and recognize attributes that we as a society see as desirable in individuals, such as honesty and integrity. To demonstrate that dishonesty carries consequences, students will use their findings to develop a set of ‘integrity questions’ as the basis for a game of snakes and ladders.
